New Life is Strange: Double Exposure Trailer Shows Off Max's New Powers

The newest Life is Strange: Double Exposure trailer gives fans a look into Max Caulfield's new powers and reveals several minutes of gameplay from the upcoming title.

In the original Life is Strange, Max was capable of rewinding time in one timeline - this allowed her to relive events, make new decisions, and impact the fate of the world. But in Deck Nine and Square Enix's Double Exposure, her abilities are a little different: Max can shift between different timelines using her Shift power. She can also use the Pulse ability to glimpse at opposite timelines and overhear conversations on the other side, giving her easy access to knowledge from other timelines and the ability to know whether it's safe to head over.

"Max will need to use both aspects of her new power to solve her friend Safi’s impossible murder," developers explain. "As Max Shifts back and forth between two increasingly different timelines, her power allows the player to complete unique puzzles, navigate complex campus social dynamics and explore all the mysteries that Caledon University has to offer."

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is the newest upcoming instalment in the critically-acclaimed Life is Strange series, and is set to release on 29 October for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Fans can pre-order the upcoming title now. Double Exposure is also set for an eventual Switch release, but no official release date has been announced so far.
