The Dark Avengers have arrived to usher their reign of terror and havoc in Marvel Snap's first season update for 2025. This January, a handful of dastardly characters are joining the popular card battler game as new card releases, in which the opening week sees the well-trained and master strategist Victoria Hand debuting in-game.

Like previous character card releases, Victoria Hand has appeared in live-action properties, albeit momentarily, until her on-screen death. Luckily, she's looking to avoid any possibility of her demise in Marvel Snap. This well-organized guide explains everything we know about Victoria Hand, detailing the card ability, best synergistic cards and decks, and top counters, and presents some deck ideas to get Snappers started in Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap Victoria Hand Card Abilities Explained

Debuting on the pages of The Invincible Iron Man #8 comic, Victoria Hand started as a supporting character as a S.H.I.E.L.D. accountant until she climbed through the rankings until her promotion in the Dark Reign series as S.H.I.E.L.D.'s new head by Norman Osborn. As she was a proud supporter of Osborn and his plans, the formation of the Dark Avengers began, which saw multiple villains joining the team, including Bullseye, Daken, Moonstone, the Sentry, US Agent, and Victoria Hand herself.

Like a few notable Dark Avengers, she has made the leap into live-action as the character appeared in a handful of episodes in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. until her demise in Season 1. She, at times, has been referred to as the female counterpart to Nick Fury, and she is looking to make a massive impact upon her arrival to Marvel Snap.

At the launch of the Dark Avengers season, Victoria Hand released a Series 5 card with her official stats listed as a two-cost and a three Power card. This card comes with an Ongoing ability that cards "created" within their hand will get +2 Power, which is great for decks that center on card generation.

As for acquiring Victoria Hand, it can be obtained through the Spotlight Cache system by spending Spotlight Keys, as this card is available for one week between 7th and 14th January 2025. The card can also be purchased via the Token Shop for 6,000 Collector's Tokens, so let's look at some deck ideas and highlight key synergies and counters for Victoria Hand.

Best Marvel Snap Victoria Hand Decks: The Iron Hand

As stated before, Victoria Hand grants a power buff to cards that were "created" in Snappers' hands; however, it may not apply to specific cards like Arishem, Cable, and Thanos. It synergizes well with S.H.I.E.L.D. cards like Agent 13, Maria Hill, Valentina, Agent Coulson, and Nick Fury and other noted card generators like Snowguard, Mirage, Kate Bishop, Moon Girl, and White Queen.

We'll focus on this set of cards in our first spotlighted deck from Marvel Snap content creator ReZ Snapper, which also features the combo of Quinjet and The Collector, which gains power from cards that enter their hand "from anywhere (except your deck)." The early rounds will see them play Quinjet and The Collector before they can play a combo of Maria Hill, Mirage, Kate Bishop, and Iron Patriot to generate cards to their hand, buffing The Collector in the process.

As this deck doesn't feature any 4, 5, and 6 Cost cards, except for Mockingbird, which can be played in adjacent locations and copied by Frigga, they can play US Agent along with the Arrow token cards. This should allow them to play Victoria Hand and Mystique in the final turn to buff all generated cards on the board and secure them the Victory screen!

Best Marvel Snap Victoria Hand Decks: Bounce 'n Buff

Add a few low-Cost cards to bounce with falcon, Toxin and Beast in this new take on a Bounce deck! (Picture: Second Dinner / Untapped.gg)

Outside of the card generation-style decks, another deck archetype that can greatly benefit from Victoria Hand's Ongoing ability is the Bounce archetype. Victoria Hand will feel quite powerful in this type of playstyle, especially when played alongside The Hood, Nico Minoru, and Kate Bishop, while bouncing highly valuable cards to either discount or give them a power buff.

This bouncy deck from Marvel Snap content creator Tuccrr built this new variation of a Bounce deck with a few new additions alongside Victoria Hand, like Toxin and a reworked Black Swan. The main playline is to focus on bouncing card generators for more opportunities to generate more cards and to bounce them again using Falcon, then Toxin to buff the card, and eventually Beast to discount their costs.

Snappers have until Turn 5 (or 6 if Magik was played) to play Sage and Black Swan to reduce all one-Cost cards to 0 for the next turn for a huge final play the following turn. This sees them playing all the reduced one-Cost cards with Victoria Hand for the power buff across the board and Hit-Monkey for a massive payoff and a win!

Best Marvel Snap Victoria Hand Decks: Victoria Discarding Her Hand!

Victoria Hand feels best at home with the Discard archetype with a deck built around Helicarrier. (Picture: Second Dinner / Untapped.gg)

Perhaps the best home for Victoria Hand is within the Discard archetype, as specific cards discarded will be created within the hand, like Scorn, Swarm, Daken's Muramasa Shard token card, Apocalypse, and Helicarrier, until they're played to gain that buff. Discard may be the best synergistic playstyle as Snappers won't need to worry much about hand size, unlike card generation-style decks.

This discard-friendly guide from Marvel Snap content creator Alexander Coccia pairs these key discarding cards in Scorn, Swarm, Apocalypse, and Helicarrier which the latter generated random cards to their hand while Scorn, Swarm, and Apocalypse return to their hand before being played (eventually). While Quinjet isn't featured in this deck, Morbius and The Collector take its slot as the bulk of the power it gains are from Scorn, Swarm, and Apocalypse, while Helicarrier is a one-time discard.

The main cards to play to discard them are Blade, Colleen Wing, Lady Sif to target either Apocalypse or Helicarrier and Corvus Glaive, which we reserved until Helicarrier has been discarded to gain some Energy. Finally, M.O.D.O.K. will be the key card to play to ultimately discard their entire hand except Scorn, Swarm, and Apocalypse to get rid of unplayable cards generated from Helicarrier before playing Victoria Hand on the final turn along with other valuable card(s).
