A major draw of any Call of Duty game is the ability to grind for custom and unique camos, letting players showcase their skills while enjoying a weapon that looks amazing (especially since it dominates over a third of the screen). However, players have often criticized the tedious setup and tracking of challenges. Fortunately, the developers have confirmed that Challenge Tracking will be returning, much to the relief of many fans.
Fans Breathe a Sigh of Relief as Treyarch Confirms the Challenge Tracker's Return to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
In the recent January 9, 2025, patch notes blog, Treyarch revealed that a Challenge Tracker is in the works for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and players are breathing a collective sigh of relief. While you might think there’s already a tracker in the game, you'd be right, but accessing it has been quite tedious.
Add a way to track challenges

A great example is the Camo challenges, where each one has different requirements and specific numbers to achieve to unlock your desired camo. However, in the game, there’s no way to track your progress directly, leaving players in the dark. After each match, you have to navigate through a few menus to see where you stand.
This issue has been resolved in other Call of Duty titles with an in-game challenge tracker that allows players to view progress simply by opening the UI screen. Treyarch’s blog post also mentions upcoming changes to separate UI screens for Zombies and Multiplayer, giving players more control over what they see in each mode.
While there’s no confirmation yet on when the Challenge Tracker will be implemented, it’s reassuring to know that the current camo grind experience won’t be permanent. The feature may drop with Season 2, which is the next big milestone for the game, but as always, we'll just have to wait and see.
