Marvel Snap developer Second Dinner officially revealed the first season for 2025, the Dark Avengers, which goes live on 7th January 2025. This upcoming season will see five new card releases, most of which are available through the Spotlight Caches, new Albums and locations, and plenty more new content that has yet to be detailed.
Likewise, the planned card acquisition changes are set to be included in the January 2025 patch on 14th January 2025, as revealed in a social media post from the developer in December 2024. Speaking of the upcoming patch update, which will be deployed alongside the new season, the developer has shared minor changes to their update schedule for the next few weeks, which covers the first three seasons for Marvel Snap.
The Dark Avengers season for Marvel Snap begins on 7th January 2025 for PC and mobile devices, in which five new cards, Victoria Hand, Moonstone, Bullseye, Ares, and the Season Pass card, Iron Patriot, will become available throughout the month. Ahead of the new season release, Marvel Snap's Senior Community Manager Griffin Bennett made a post on the update schedule for 2025, which saw slight changes to the Over-The-Air (OTA) updates for January and February 2025, covering the two upcoming seasons.
Bennett posted this slightly tweaked OTA update schedule to the official Marvel Snap Discord channel on 4th January 2025 with an accompanying message. Bennett wrote, "Happy 2025, everyone! I wanted to update our SNAP schedule as some changes have been made to get us back on track to the second and fourth Thursday of the season OTA schedule."
The subsequent patch updates for Marvel Snap are scheduled for 14th January 2025, 4th February 2025, and 4th March 2025, while the OTA updates will now occur on 16th and 30th January 2025 and 13th and 27th February 2025, per Bennett's Discord post. Granted, the development team was on a Holiday break over the Christmas period, but this change to the OTA update schedule ensures that the team is prepared to tackle any issues Snappers may encounter following the Dark Avengers season release and provide updates promptly to resolve them along with some additional bug fixes.
