Diablo - Guides and Tutorials

Diablo has been a fan favourite since its original release in 1997 by Blizzard Entertainment with several main titled games and expansions. The Diablo games are hack-and-slash, roguelike and role-playing games where players can choose their class and customize their characters.

Diablo requires acquiring new equipment, gaining experience, and allocating skill points while fighting hordes of evil demons, undead, and corrupted. Each class brings a different playstyle to the game such as a spellcaster fighting with ranged DPS or a warrior using melee weapons to crush their foes.

Many of the Diablo games still receive patches while Diablo 3 continues to run Seasons with updated rewards and new challenges.

Diablo Story and Versions

The Diablo series follows the events of the conflict between Heaven, Hell, and the mortal world, Sanctuary, which is caught in the conflict. The setting and atmosphere are dark and grisly with content only for a mature audience. Many of the characters and events that take place in Diablo are inspired by stories from Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.

Diablo, Diablo 2, and Diablo 3 are the core games in the series. The fourth game to the series has been announced while a mobile version of Diablo is soon to release.

The first Diablo game was released in 1997 and was followed by an expansion pack named Hellfire. The backstory of Diablo is that a group of powerful sorcerers imprisoned the three Prime Evils into Soulstones and then hid them away. Eventually, an evil sorcerer from the town of Tristram unleashes Diablo from his Soulstone.

Diablo and his minions began growing in power as the main character playing as either a warrior, rogue, or sorcerer dives into dark dungeons to purge the evil. The conclusion of Diablo ends with the player’s character attempting to destroy Diablo by jamming Diablo’s Soulstone into his/her head.

Playing as either a barbarian, amazon, necromancer, sorceress, or paladin, players spend Diablo 2 chasing down a mysterious dark enemy who can summon demons. It’s eventually revealed that the dark enemy is the hero from the first Diablo game and with the help of the Archangel Tyrael, you defeat the corrupted hero, Diablo, and his companions.

A remastered version of Diablo 2 was released in 2021 under the name Diablo 2: Resurrected. A few big changes were done for the remastered game such as new cutscenes, improved visual and audio effects, and shared item staches.

Diablo 3 takes place twenty years after the ending of Diablo II and the players are a Naphelm hero who gets aid from the fallen Archangel Tyrael to thwart Diablo who has regained strength. The journey also takes the hero to face the High Heavens who attempt to turn their back on humanity.

Diablo III ends with the hero slaying Diablo while in the High Heavens and uniting angels and humans. The game was preceded by an expansion, Reaper of Souls, where the characters must face the grim reaper.

Blizzard is currently developing Diablo IV and has released a few trailers and information. The main antagonist will be Lilith and the game is set to be released at the earliest in 2023.

Diablo Immortal is a new mobile game that will be released on 2nd June 2022. This game will focus on the events that took place between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. In Diablo Immortal, players will have the chance to play as a Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, and a Wizard.
