Oblivion Remaster Screenshots Seemingly Leak Online

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has long been held in the hearts of many as one of the all-time RPG greats. Originally released in 2006, players found themselves in the region of Cyrodiil, only to be caught up in the Oblivion crisis were an invasion of Daedra have been pouring into the lands.

Featuring a fully open-world and expanding on foundations laid out by its predecessor The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Oblivion was a critical and commercial success. Those returning to the game in later years, however, found the title to be showing its age, thus demand for a remake or remaster has been ever-high.

Rumours of a possible remaster have been forming as of late, with many speculating that the game was to be shadow dropped during April 2025. But, without any official word from Bethesda, and little evidence, the rumours remained just that.

Now, it seems images of the rumoured remaster have surfaced online via Virtuos' website, the studio reportedly behind the remaster.

Virtuos have been at the hands of plenty of ports and remasters over the years, including Dark Souls Remastered and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

The remaster is reportedly set to be called The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and, according to some sources, is expected to feature a modified stamina system, improved HUD and archery mechanics, and more reactive enemies.

At the time of writing, neither Bethesda, Virtuos or Microsoft have made any announcement regarding The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, though the game is expected to release next week.
