Table of Contents
2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for ESO fans. Following the ESO Direct on April 10, Bethesda have revealed the upcoming content plan for 2025, kicking off with a brand new storyline and zone. Seasons of the Worm Cult will lead players to Western Solstice, where the Worm Cult has returned and is now seeking revenge. The new content will be separated into two parts, each releasing at different points of the year.
ESO Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 Release Date
Kicking off with Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1, players will be able to dive into this storyline on June 2 for PC/Mac and June 18 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles . A free prologue quest, titled “A Guild in Crisis”, is available now via the in-game Crown Store.
Western Solstice will offer up new challenges and rewards, including new World Bosses, Delves, a Public Dungeon, and a brand-new Trial, the Ossein Cage. Players will also be on the hunt for 16 Antiquities (including three new Mythic items), four new Trial item sets (including Perfected versions), and plenty of other rewards, including Collectibles, crafting motifs and pets. A 10% experience boost will also be active to those adventuring in Solstice all year.
ESO Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 2 Release Date
Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 2, while not having a definitive release date this early, is scheduled to arrive in Q4 2025, and is included as part of the 2025 Content Pass. Expect two different dates: one for PC/Mac, and a later one for Xbox and PlayStation owners. Players will be heading to Eastern Solstice, where the inhabitants are far less welcoming than the previous zone.
This second half introduces more World Bosses, Delves, another Public Dungeon, and new rewards that are both exclusive to the new content and shared across the whole Solstice zone. Expect three new overland item sets, three more Mythic items, and plenty of collectibles to earn.
Writhing Wall Event Start Date
Nestled between the two storyline drops is the Writhing Wall Event, arriving in Q3/Q4 2025. Here, players will be banding together with others across Tamriel to bring down the Writhing Wall, a one-time, world-changing event. Not to be missed, eh?
The Writing Wall Event is included as part of the 2025 Content Pass, which also gives players access to both parts of Seasons of the Worm Cult. Even if you don't have the content pass, you can still help out through the base game by gathering resources for the war effort.
Elder Scrolls Online is available across Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
