Deathloop, the next game from the creators of the Dishonored series and Prey, is about to be released after several delays.
The game tells an intriguing story of two professional assassins, Colt and Julianna, with Colt being unwillingly trapped in a seemingly perpetual time-loop while Julianna tracks him down and keep him trapped.
Like other games from Arkane Studios, Deathloop seems like a perfect blend of unique storytelling and engaging gameplay, and it's no wonder that armies of fans can't wait to play the game.
Unfortunately for Xbox owners, the game will be a 1-year PlayStation 5 console exclusive, while it will release simultaneously on PC.
But, given that Microsoft now owns Arkane, many Game Pass subscribers are hoping that the game might be available on Game Pass for PC.
Is Deathloop coming to Game Pass for PC?
In 2021, Microsoft's Game Pass has taken the gaming world by storm, as it offers unbelievable value for its price.
It's essentially a "Netflix for gaming" where players get unlimited access to a vast and constantly growing library of games for a monthly subscription fee.
Players can play a huge number of both old and new games, while first-party Xbox titles are available on Game Pass Day 1.
Any new game from Microsoft Studios or Bethesda will become available on Game Pass the moment it releases, including games like Halo Infinite and Starfield.
And given that Arkane Studios is now a first-party studio, owned by Microsoft, Game Pass subscribers have their hopes up that Deathloop could appear on Game Pass on the launch day.
So, Will Deathloop be on Game Pass on release? Unfortunately, the answer is no. The game is not available on the Microsoft Store, which is essentially the Xbox store, and in order for the game to be on Game Pass, it first needs to be available on the Microsoft Store.
Microsoft has acknowledged that they will honour previous Bethesda agreements, which means that Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo will be PS5 timed exclusives, and although exclusivity has nothing to do with Game Pass for PC, it does mean the game will not appear on other consoles before the 14th September 2022, that still results in them not being available on the Microsoft store.
As things stand now, in order for the game to become available on Game Pass for both PC and Xbox Series X/S, we will have to wait a full year for the PS5 exclusivity contract to end.
