SUPERVIVE has built a reputation for its vibrant roster of Hunters and its responsiveness to player feedback, and the latest update delivers on both fronts. The game has just received a new balance patch aimed at addressing key community concerns, along with the introduction of a brand-new Hunter named Carbine. Let’s dive into the details below.

SUPERVIVE: New Hunter Carbine and Balance Patch Arriving April 29, 2025

As announced in the latest community log post from the SUPERVIVE team, a major update is dropping on April 29, 2025, at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 5 PM CET / 12 AM KST. This update brings not only a brand-new balance patch but also introduces a new Hunter: Carbine, set to join the ever-growing roster.

Meet Carbine – The New Fighter-Class Hunter

First things first—let’s talk about Carbine, a Fighter-type Hunter who excels at close-range combat and control, while also boasting impressive mobility and area control options. Here's a full breakdown of what Carbine brings to the table:

  • Enmity Core (Passive):
    • Hits on enemy Hunters with the XT3 Heavy Blaster (LMB) partially refund the cooldown of Thrusters (LSHIFT). Knocks and kills refund one charge of Overkill Rounds (R) while active.
  • XT3 Heavy Blaster (LMB):
    • Fires a blaster projectile dealing 43 damage. Holds 3 charges.
  • Percussive Burst (RMB):
    • After a 0.5-second warm-up, knocks back enemies in a cone, dealing 64 damage and Stunning on terrain impact.
  • Shocktrap Drone (Q):
    • Launches a scanning drone that reveals enemy locations. Re-triggering it causes an explosion, slowing enemies and deploying a trap that can stun.
  • Overkill Rounds (R):
    • Overcharges the XT3 Heavy Blaster, granting two long-range shots that deal 170 damage, pierce enemies, destructibles, and wisps, and refund an additional shot on knock or wisp destruction.

As with other Hunters, Carbine will come with his own set of Hunter Missions, which reward players with exclusive emotes, banners, call signs, and currency as they complete objectives. The full mission list is available in the community post, so be sure to check that out if you're aiming to clear them from day one.

Balance Patch Highlights

Alongside Carbine, a sweeping balance patch is rolling out—and while the full list is extensive (you can read it in the linked blog post), here are some standout highlights:

Balance and QOL changes
While Carbine’s arrival is exciting, the balance and quality-of-life changes also enhance the gameplay experience, making your favorite Hunters feel even better to play. (Picture: Theorycraft Games)
  • Oath and Jin received nerfs, reducing their overall power due to how dominant they were in the hands of skilled players.
  • Beebo was slightly nerfed with lower damage numbers, making him less of a glass-cannon threat.
  • On the flip side, Joule and Void got significant buffs to make them more aggressive and less reliant on teammates for viability.

These changes reflect feedback from the community and seem to align with what many players have been asking for—so props to Theorycraft for delivering on that front. There are also quite a few quality-of-life and bug fixes that come with this update, so it's going to be a smoother ride from here on out.

For now, we’ll have to dive into the update ourselves to see how Carbine plays and how these balance changes shake up the meta. We’ll be sharing our thoughts shortly. Until then, gear up—and we’ll see you in SUPERVIVE!
