Stardew Valley's newest beta update includes a co-op mode where you can invite friends to your existing farm and play with them. Friends can even sleep on your farm and help out around the farmstead. However, because this feature is so new, it might confuse even veteran players as to what to do and how to invite friends.
We're here to help if you want to try out Stardew Valley's new mode. Here's how to invite friends to your game in Strardew Valley using the game's new co-op mode.
How to Invite Friends in Stardew Valley
Before inviting friends to your co-op farm in Stardew Valley, you'll need to have cabins for each person you invite. This ensures that they can sleep through the night on your farm.
You can either build these cabins or start out the game with them; it's up to you how you want to approach it, as long as you have at least one cabin for each person you invite. If you build them after you start your farm, each cabin will only cost you 100 Gold and 10 Stone, so they won't set you back too far.
Once you have enough materials to build as many cabins as you'd like, talk to Robin, and she'll take care of building those for you.
Now, you can invite your friends! Save the game so you keep your cabins and progress, then go to the co-op menu's "host" tab and select a save file. This will open a co-op file for your farm, and you can choose 'Friends Only or 'Invite Only.' Here's how those toggles work:
- Friends Only: Anyone on your friends list can join the farm from their list.
- Invite Only: Only the friends you select will be able to see your farm and join it through your Invite Code.
If you want to invite friends through an Invite Code, you can find that information in the game's Multiplayer area in Settings. You can then send that code to your friends, and they can enter it in-game to join your farm. Alternatively, they can join by sending them an invite.
Now you know how to invite friends to your Stardew Valley co-op game. Have fun!
