Developer Ironwood Studios celebrated their one million copies sales milestone in February 2025, of which, while thanking fans, they hinted at a possible fourth major content update. This tease came a few months after it was revealed that the survival game will be adapted into a television series with director James Wan as its showrunner.

Well, the developer followed up on the teased content update when they officially announced the next update for Pacific Drive on social media. Luckily, players won't have to wait too long for this update as it will arrive on consoles and PC much sooner than scheduled for an April release.

Pacific Drive developer Ironwood Studios announced on social media, dated 25th March 2025, the next update, Endless Expeditions, which launches for consoles and PCs on 3rd April 2025. The Endless Expeditions update is the fourth major content update for the survival game in which players will set off into the Olympic Exclusion Zone once more as they embark on more treacherous adventures that will test even the most veteran players.

According to the developer in an official post on the game's Steam page, this next major update will include "new maps, spawning systems, and improved tools," just to name a few, with plenty more to be announced closer to its release or in its patch notes upon the update's release.

Additionally, Ironwood Studios confirmed in its announcement that a new in-game feature, the Suspend Run, will be introduced in the Endless Expeditions update; which the developer stated that this feature was heavily requested "by the community!" Based on its description, the Suspend Run feature will allow players to suspend their current run "mid-junction and return any time without losing any progress."

A few unique cosmetics will be added to Pacific Drive through this update, alongside new radio music, which is reportedly over an hour long. Lastly, players can also enjoy new in-game lore that's also to be arriving to the game, and they can discover these new tidbits by interacting with the fax machine.
