In the Stardew Valley 1.6.9 update released on 4 November 2024 (and ushering in the 1.6 content on mobile/console as well), the developer added some new, hidden cheat codes, with commands to give you as much money as you like and any items you desire.

You'll have to jump through some hoops to use the new hidden cheat codes in Stardew Valley, and they are only available on Windows PC and MAC, since you'll need a device where you can actually edit your save file on.
Please note:Proceed with the steps to edit your Stardew Valley save file at your own risk. We recommend also backing up your save file multiple times. We are not responsible for any issue or loss of progress that might occur from tinkering with your save files to make use of Stardew Valley hidden cheats.
Editing Stardew Valley Saves to Enable Cheats
You cannot normally just add cheats to Stardew Valley. You must first edit your save file (back it up right now before you do anything else!) and change the value of the <allowChatCheats> element to "true." Then, you can load your save like you normally would, open chat, and type in cheat codes / debug commands.
It is quite the ordeal to actually edit a Stardew Valley save file, and things can go horribly wrong. If you are brave enough, you can follow the Stardew Valley Wiki guide with all the steps for PC or MAC to start editing those precious save files.
Once the ability to type in cheats in chat has been enabled, you can use the new money cheat or a cheat that gets you any item in the game. Check them out below.
Stardew Valley Money Cheat
Load up your savegame, which has been edited with the <allowChatCheats>, and open chat, then type in /money [amount of gold you want] and press enter. For example, if you want 10,000 gold, you would use the command /money 10000 just like that and press the Enter key.
Stardew Valley Item Cheat
Simply open chat and use the following command: /debug itemNamed [the item you want], then press the Enter key.
For example, to get pufferfish, you can use the command /debug itemNamed pufferfish, which will add one pufferfish to your inventory.
Keep in mind that you can also use older cheat commands in the same way. For example, the /debug iq ALL-ITEMS command will show you a list of all items in the entire game, and you can click on one to put it in your inventory. The /debug itemNamed [the item you want], however, is new and allows you to specify an item quickly without the need for an item ID.

So there you have it, farmers and adventurers! The new hidden cheats give you both as much money as you want and any items you desire to use in Pelican Town. Remember, you do proceed at your own risk, and we recommend rather enjoying the game it is supposed to be played, instead of using cheats.
