The farming life sim game Stardew Valley continues to be one of the most successful and well-supported video game releases of the last decade while garnering a huge player following in the years post-launch. Its 1.6 content update, which launched in March 2024, added a bountiful of new content, including a festival, new dialogue and quests, quality-of-life imporvements, and bug fixes, as this update was eventually ported to consoles and mobile devices in November 2024.
The game recently celebrated another monumental achievement, which an eagle-eyed player had noticed and posted to the Stardew Valley subreddit. It also provided details on how it reached this milestone, which will surely have players celebrating throughout Pelican Town in honor of this milestone.
Redditor erskol posted to the Stardew Valley subreddit on 30th December 2024 a screenshot of an updated page on the official Stardew Valley Press Center. Under the History section, a new passage was added, although details on when it happened are undetermined as of writing, which reveals that Stardew Valley has achieved a record-setting achievement.
"As of December 2024, Stardew Valley has sold over 41 million copies across all platforms, with over 26 million copies sold on PC and 7.9 million copies on the Nintendo Switch." It's more than likely that the remaining 7.1 million copies sold are for the PlayStation and Xbox consoles and its mobile versions; however, the stats for these platforms specifically haven't been specified on the Stardew Valley Press Center.
