Electronic Arts (EA) held their recent Investor Day presentation which they shared the publisher's "financial performance," along with key details on upcoming releases and projects entering production across their multiple studios. The publisher provided an update on the critically acclaimed Star Wars Jedi series during their gaming segment of the presentation, which featured Battlefield, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and Skate, the latter entering Early Access in 2025.

The upcoming Star Wars Jedi game, developed by Respawn Entertainment, will be the third and final installment, according to Laura Miele, president of EA Entertainment and Technology, who presented the gaming portion of the presentation. Having officially confirmed the Star Wars Jedi series to be a trilogy, it will be in development without the guidance of its former game director Stig Asmussen.

The “final chapter” will officially mark Jedi Knight Cal Kestis' last in-game outing (for the time being, so who knows), as the development team is actively working hard to "bring the final chapter" of this exciting saga to players around the world soon. Miele said Respawn has "delivered some of the highest quality and best-selling Star Wars games of all time, with over $5 billion in net bookings," a feat they're looking to add on once the final Jedi game launches.

Miele continued that "this impressive track record" has seen Star Wars Jed: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor amass over 40 million players since their respective releases, and it looks to continue this feat once the final Jedi game releases. It's also possible that more players have joined in on Cal's epic adventures as Respawn had just re-released Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for last-gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) as of 17th September 2024.

The publisher (nor developer) did not provide further details on the forthcoming Star Wars Jedi game, leaving many questions unanswered as to what we hope to expect in Cal Kestis' “final chapter. Nevertheless, this will undoubtedly see plenty of discussions online regarding the creative direction for the final Star Wars Jedi game, which is confirmed to have a new director at the helm.
