NaturalMotion's free-to-play (F2P) third-person arena shooter Star Wars Hunters is heading to PCs in 2025, as it was announced in a blog post. The F2P third-person arena shooter is published by Zynga, for which it was released for mobile devices and Nintendo Switch in May 2024, and is bringing its "thrilling multiplayer" action to PCs with new content available for all players to enjoy at launch.
The developer revealed in the aforementioned blog post that a playtest will be made available for players to begin registering, and they'll be notified when it becomes available. Players who are planning to get the game at launch are required to have a Zynga ID account registered in order to utilize some new gameplay features.
Star Wars Hunters is launching for PC via Steam Early Access, confirmed to be available from 27th January 2025. Before its Steam Early Access release, two playtests will be available for players to join by registering on its Steam page by clicking on the "Request Access" button available.
The first playtest period is scheduled for 13th to 16th December 2024, and the second wave occurs between 10th and 13th January 2025, giving players two opportunities to join. During its playtests, PC players will get to test a few new gameplay features, including custom keybindings, improved visual fidelity, and the rare chance to experience the new Sprocket rework, which will be available to all players at a later date.
The developer has also provided the minimum and recommended PC requirements to ensure they get the best experience possible when jumping into a match with friends and fellow Hunters. However, at launch, all players gain access to some new content, including the new battlefield, the Coruscant Underworld, and a new DPS Hunter, Glikkin.
A new gameplay feature available for its PC/Steam launch is that Star Wars Hunters will support cross-platform play (crossplay), allowing players across mobile devices, Nintendo Switch, and PC to play together. Lastly, the game will also support cross-platform progression, meaning players can play Star Wars Hunters on mobile devices and continue their progression on Switch and PC, which requires an account to work.
