We're over a month since the much-anticipated launch of the latest entry in the Assassin's Creed series, Assassin's Creed Shadows, which was released to mostly positive reviews. While the game has been enjoying success since its release, there hasn't been much discussion on its post-launch roadmap, except when one of its expansions, Claws of Awaji, was leaked online.
Ubisoft has since confirmed the existence of this forthcoming DLC; additional post-launch plans have yet to be confirmed by the publisher, but this has since changed. The developer and publisher recently made an announcement for which players can mark a date on their calendar to learn what's coming next for Assassin's Creed Shadows.
In January 2025, we reported that the Assassin's Creed Shadows' Steam page accidentally confirmed one DLC for the game, Claws of Awaji, before it was subsequently scrubbed. It was never reinstated by Ubisoft, but based on the original description, players are tasked with reclaiming lost treasure while avoiding hazardous traps and other dangers, but no release date was confirmed.
We will learn more about the Claws of Awaji DLC as Ubisoft will outline Assassin's Creed Shadows' post-launch plans, which will be revealed at month-end. This was announced in a social media post on 23rd April 2025 that players' journeys will continue as these plans will be confirmed on 30th April 2025.
It's yet to be determined whether this will be a livestream or a developer post, which may be the latter, given Ubisoft and developer Massive Entertainment detailed the post-launch roadmap for Star Wars Outlaws ahead of its release. Similarly, it's possible that Shadows may feature two to three DLCs, akin to Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but plans could change, and we'll have to wait until 30th April 2025 for more information.
