Next Rumored Playable Character Psylocke Leaked For Marvel Rivals

Fans of the forthcoming superhero team-based PvP shooter Marvel Rivals just got a sneak peek at what's to come. The game's developer, NetEase Games, ran a community-based event through one of its media channels, in which the reward was a reveal for an upcoming playable character.

The game which is confirmed to be releasing as a free-to-play (F2P) title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, Mac and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam on 6th December 2024. At launch, we can anticipate a full roster of playable characters, including Thor, Jeff the Baby Land Shark, Captain America, and the Winter Soldier, plus one more character in Psylocke.

According to Miller Ross, who has been actively following the latest news surrounding the superhero team-based PvP shooter, they posted to their Twitter account that the developer ran a trivia event for its community through its Discord server recently. As a reward, players received an exclusive first look at a forthcoming playable character, which was revealed to be Betsy Braddock, who's better known as Psylocke in Marvel Comics.

The developer dropped a teaser clip showcasing the superhero joining the current character roster, which provided a snippet of what her in-game design and abilities would look like. Furthermore, Ross added that Psylocke's in-game design "is inspired by Peach Momoko's "Demon Days" comic run, which takes place in a fictional feudal era Japan rife with mythical yōkai."

Psylocke's reveal has created much discussion online as many praised the character's in-game design but also began speculating as to which role (Duelist, Strategist, or Vanguard) she may be assigned with. It's unclear as to when exactly Psylocke will join the current roster for Marvel Rivals, whether it be at launch in December 2024 or potentially in a forthcoming Closed Beta Test, if one is supposedly planned soon, but we'll continue to follow any new developments regarding this character.
