A few days remain until the official global launch of the superhero team-based PvP shooter Marvel Rivals from developer NetEase Games. Most recently, the developer released their second Developer Vision update, which provides some clarity and feedback on optimizations for the gameplay experience and Anti-Cheat features, and confirmed new maps are coming soon.
While the latest Developer Vision update coincided with the reveal of a new Scarlet Witch skin, the following day saw the first look reveal of an "uncanny" yet magnetizing cosmetic skin for one of the X-Men's most powerful villains and allies throughout Marvel Comics. The cosmetic skin reveal was uploaded online as part of its daily news announcement as the Marvel Rivals global countdown continues to tick away towards its launch in December 2024, during which the skin will be available in-game.
We're less than two weeks away from Marvel Rivals' full release, and following the latest Developer Vision update, the developer unveiled the latest spotlighted character for their latest daily news announcement. One of the most powerful and popular mutants from Marvel Comics, Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto is the latest character spotlighted across Marvel Rivals social media and digital accounts as the character was featured in the recent Rivals Assemble video posted to their YouTube channel on 25th November 2024.
Alongside the Magneto-centric Rivals Assemble video, the character was upfront and center for a new cosmetic skin revealed online on the aforementioned date. The post introduced the "Master of Magnetism" cosmetic skin with an accompanying caption that reads, "His path to dominance began with the takeover of the missile base, declaring himself the ruler of all mutants," and as such, Magneto and his "iron will" will demand "nothing less than total human obedience."
This latest cosmetic skin addition to the character, whose design was inspired by their appearance in the Uncanny X-Men (1981) #1 comic, will be available in-game when it launches next month for consoles and PCs. There is no word or confirmation on how exactly players, more specifically Magento mains, can acquire this "uncanny" cosmetic skin, but we'll update this page once it has been confirmed.
