Following the massive success of its PC-exclusive Alpha Test in May 2024, developer NetEase Games has announced that a Closed Beta will soon be coming to PC, and for the first time, console players will be invited to join. This was confirmed when the developer revealed new information for the forthcoming test period: registration is available for consoles, while PC players must wait longer.

While more information will be announced as we approach the start of the Closed Beta, players will gain access to some new content, including new characters and maps. We've compiled a guide featuring all the important information for the upcoming Closed Beta Test for Marvel Rivals, including start and end dates and times, how to sign, available characters, and more.

Marvel Rivals Console & PC Closed Beta: Start & End Dates And Times

Developer NetEase Games has announced that it will transition into a Closed Beta period for the forthcoming superhero team-based PvP shooter Marvel Rivals. This was confirmed as the developer released the starting and ending dates and times for the Closed Beta, which will be available for consoles and PCs in July 2024.

The Closed Beta will be available to all players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam for North American, European, and Asian servers during its period. As for when the Closed Beta for Marvel Rivals will start and end, we have provided all the details below for players to begin registering for on console or PC:

  • Start Date & Time: 23rd July 2024 at 3 pm PT / 6 pm ET / 10 pm UTC
  • End Date & Time: 5th August 2024 at 12 am PT / 3 am ET / 7 am UTC

How To Sign Up For Marvel Rivals Console & PC Closed Beta?

As mentioned before, the Closed Beta will now be available for PC players and those playing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The Closed Beta will reportedly support cross-play for the abovementioned platforms in which players can register now for a console with PC registration starting from 20th July 2024.

For console players, they can complete a specific questionnaire by clicking on the link here and following the instructions, ensuring they've entered the required information. Players wishing to join the Closed Beta on PC via Steam can search for the game's listing and look for the "Join Marvel Rivals Playtest" prompt, where the "Request Access" button will be available from 20th July 2024.

The developer added that beta access will roll out daily once the registration for the Closed Beta goes live on Steam. Console players will receive an email notification, which we encourage players to check their Spam folder if it is not found in their Inbox to be invited to the Closed Beta and stay updated on the latest news across Marvel Rivals' social media accounts and their official Discord server.

NetEase also revealed all the available content that players will gain access to during the Closed Beta period. This includes test characters, maps, and game modes for any additional content to be announced on their social media accounts and official Discord server.

As for which characters players can look forward to playing during the Closed Beta, the developer has confirmed the following:

  • Hulk
  • Iron Man
  • Loki
  • Luna Snow
  • Magik
  • Magneto
  • Mantis
  • Namor
  • Peni Parker
  • The Punisher
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Star-Lord
  • Storm
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Spider-Man
  • Venom

They've also confirmed that the Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya, Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands, Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path, and Yggsgard: Royal Palace locations will be available as playable maps during the Closed Beta period. Likewise, only three game modes will be available in the playlist, as players can jump into a match for the Convergence, Convoy, and Domination game modes.

Lastly, the developer added a side note that they would implement similar plans in the distribution of Extra Invite Codes, which occurred for the Alpha test, with more information on possible events, livestreams, and tournaments to be announced.
