Developer NetEase Games has begun distributing invites for the upcoming Closed Alpha Test for the superhero team-based PVP shooter Marvel Rivals. While registration for the Closed Alpha Test is still available to all players seeking an invite, which begins shortly, an overlooked piece of information was revealed in the game's FAQ post.
As the developer has planned more Closed Alpha Testing opportunities in the future, will it be possible for players to carry over game save files and progression? We've discussed this question and provided players with answers to whether all Closed Alpha Test progress carries over for Marvel Rivals.
Does Marvel Rivals Closed Alpha Progress Carry Over?
As the Marvel Rivals Closed Alpha Test will begin shortly on PC between 10th and 20th May 2024, developer NetEase Games has outlined some major queries and concerns from the community. These were addressed in the official Closed Alpha Test FAQ post, which highlights key information for the upcoming testing period, including confirmed start and end dates and times, PC system requirements, and more.
While the superhero team-based PVP shooter does not have a release date as of writing, with PC being the only confirmed platform, despite speculations of a console launch, the developer outlined an important piece of information that many players may have skimmed past. The developer answered a question regarding carrying over Alpha progression, including all game data, once the test is over or potentially over to a future Beta.
According to the developer in the FAQ post, all game data and progress accumulated during the Alpha test will be wiped once completed on 20th May 2024 at 11:59 pm PT / 2:59 am ET and 6 am UTC on 21st May 2024. All players should keep this in mind when participating in the upcoming Closed Alpha test and future testing periods unless stated otherwise by the developer.
During the Closed Alpha Test, participating players will gain access to a roster of playable characters, three maps, five game modes, including the Tutorial mode, and additional content. While the content may be limited for the Closed Alpha Test, the developer stated that what players experience "is a small sample of the full scope" of Marvel Snap with "more content available" at launch.
Players can still register for the Closed Alpha Test set to start on 10th May 2024 at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET and 12 am UTC on 11th May 2024 for PC only. The developer also confirmed that more Closed Alpha Tests are being planned for Marvel Rivals, with details to be announced soon.
