Marvel Rivals Players Get First Look At Blade On New Central Park Map

The mid-season update for Marvel Rivals will launch on 21st February 2025, in which players can explore the new content, game adjustments, and optimizations added to the superhero team-based PvP shooter. This includes new bug fixes for consoles and PCs, map and hero adjustments, and the arrival of two new playable characters, Fantastic Four members, the Human Torch and The Thing.

The update will also bring a new map, the Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park map, which is littered with a handful of Easter Eggs and references. There is a unique addition to the map that players can find, and it is related to a forthcoming character who has been teased since 2024 to join the game.

The Fantastic Four is fully complete as the Human Torch and The Thing join Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman as the latest playable characters available for free to unlock. But the fight against Dracula is far from over, as players will "traverse into complete darkness to discover the imprisoned powers on the path to Dracula's Castle," which is hidden in Central Park.

These imprisoned powers have captured two notable characters, the Asgardian creature Ratatoskr and a forthcoming playable character, the Daywalker Blade, imprisoned somewhere within Dracula's Castle. Luckily for players, finding the half-human and half-vampire characters won't be too difficult, as revealed during the Marvel Rivals Season Preview streams on 18th February 2025.

When the mid-season update launches on 21st February 2025, players can head to the respawn area of the Central Park map, where they can find Blade chained in the center of the area as they embark on a harrowing quest to rescue Ratatoskr and end the eternal darkness brought about by Dracula.

There's no clear indication of when Blade is expected to debut in Marvel Rivals; however, based on the game's lore, ending Dracula's reign of eternal darkness may have something to do with Blade's release from Dracula's Castle. The mid-season update for Marvel Rivals will launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles on 21st February 2025; which players can fight through Dracula's legions on the Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park map with the two new playable characters.
