Lies Of P Prequel DLC Overture Announced At State Of Play Arriving Summer 2025

Following its release in 2023, players have been clamoring to learn more about what's next after the end credits rolled on Neowiz and Round8 Studios' masterpiece Lies of P. We do know that a supposed sequel will follow a new protagonist teased in the post-credit scene, but until this is confirmed, players are due for a return visit to Krat.

Sony held their first PlayStation State of Play presentation of 2025 in which multiple studios and publishers brought their forthcoming releases, of which the Lies of P developers made an announcement at the event. The developers confirmed that a prequel expansion (or DLC) will be making its way to the city of Krat, which will launch on consoles and PC later this year.

Welcome back to Krat as players will be unraveling the mysteries of this fabled city in a new DLC, Overture, for the action RPG Lies of P set prior to the events of the main again. Once again, players will control P, the silent puppet players were introduced to at the start of the game and spent the entire campaign with during the base game.

The prequel DLC, Overture, follows events before P wakes up in a train cart amidst "the great Puppet Frenzy" that devastated the city; players will embark on a journey as they "uncover the hidden stories of Krat" leading up to "that fateful moment." According to game director Jiwon Choi, in an official statement on social media, "Through Lies of P: Overture, we aimed to fully refine, forge and complete the story as we originally envisioned it," as this prequel DLC will also serve as a “developers’ cut” of the action RPG.

Lies of P: Overture has yet to confirm a release date; however, based on the game's announcement trailer, the prequel DLC is slated for a Summer 2025 release window. The prequel DLC is heading to PlayStation and Xbox consoles and PC via Steam, which can be added to players' Wishlist with pre-orders to follow.
