After missing their first-ever Masters event, Paper Rex is set to return to action in VCT Pacific Stage 1. The team will not only be aiming for a spot at Masters Toronto but also looking to secure valuable Championship Points to to strengthen their contention for Champions Paris qualification.
Currently, the team is not fully prepared for Stage 1, but they aim to be ready before their first match on March 23, PRX head coach alecks told GINX TV.
Following the Kickoff event, PRX has been actively scrimming while also taking a short break at home.
"We're back in Korea now, would have preferred it to be longer but we gotta work," alecks said.
Heading into Stage 1, a key focus for the team will be adapting to the evolving meta, particularly with the addition of Tejo and Waylay to the agent roster.
"We'll try to be more ready with the agent changes this time, we didn't incorporate Tejo well in Kickoff, so that's our focus," alecks explained.
"We are also trying to get used to the new agent so it'll take a bit of time," he added. "It looks like a utility barrage kind of season, we like that in general so we should have been faster to adopt it. We'll try for sure."
Some may think PRX could now adopt the traditional approach of having a dedicated IGL, but alecks dismissed the idea when asked by GINX TV.
"No change, we've our own way of looking at it, don't really intend to change this season," he stated.
Apart from this, PRX has signed PatMen as their sixth player, raising curiosity among fans about whether he will get playtime during Stage 1.
"He played well in scrims against us, thought he was good so gave him a try and he did well. We'll see what happens when he gets his visa!" alecks shared.
PRX will kick off their VCT Pacific Stage 1 campaign against DRX, the VCT Pacific Kickoff champions. Fans will be able to watch the match live on VCT Pacific's official Twitch and YouTube channels.
