For the last couple of days, Apex Legends official Twitter account has been teasing clues about the latest Legend that will be added to the game. And with today's animated short “Legacy of a Thief”, we finally get to meet her.
Her name is Loba, which is a Portuguese word for a wolf. She's a daughter Marcos and Alanza Andrade, a thief couple that was brutally murdered by Revenant, as we saw in the Assimilation launch trailer. Her daddy gave her a wolf figurine and that's probably an origin of her name. She managed to escape right before Revenant got her dead.
As we've learned through teasers and leaks, she's grown up and she is in a dedicated search to find Revenant in order to revenge her dead parents. And now - she's finally found him.
As we can see from the video, she grew up to become an elite thief, the best amongst the best, and she lives quite a good life with his blue friend (Who suspiciously looks a lot like Ninja). Together, they are helping rich people to get rid of their luxuries.
She's described as "Stylish, sophisticated, and resourceful," and it is said that whatever she wants, she will take it.
She is already being in the game menus and lobbies, sneaking around and using something that might be a teleportation skill.
What are Loba's abilities? That's something we don't know on an official level, but according to a data miner iLootGames, here's what she brings to the table.
- Burglar’s Best Friend – Throw a disc and teleport to that location
- Supply for Demand – Hold to choose a type of loot. Reveal that type of loot in the area around you through walls
- Eye for Quality – Loba can see through nearby walls for loot
- Black Market Boutique – Place a device that can steal all nearby loot
Besides Loba, Season 5 has been officially introduced. Loba naturally the biggest addition of the season, but there's much more!
We're getting a new battle pass, with over 100 exclusive items, including Legendary skins, Apex Packs, new Battle Pass content making a Season 5 debut, and more.
Season 5 will also introduce Quests for the first time, described as "hunt for treasures and answers" witch plentiful rewards if you complete the journey.
Finally, there's a Series 4 of ranked mode. We won’t see any changes to the ranked split system. As with last season, maps will be changed around midway through the Series. Series will start with King’s Canyon, then moving to World’s Edge, with the planned split reset on June 23rd.
