The main protagonist is a ragtag teenager called Denji, who works as a devil hunter to pay off his father's debt to Yakuzas. One thing leads to another, and Denji starts working as a devil hunter for the government.

The anime adaptation of Chainsaw Main will cover the first arc of the manga that concluded in 2020. “With dark humor, dynamic characters, and a sharp story, Chainsaw Man is one of the most anticipated new series this year, and we are wickedly excited to bring it to fans on the Crunchyroll service," says Asa Suehira, the chief content officer at Crunchyroll.

As of this writing, the exact number of episodes for Chainsaw Man anime has not been confirmed. However, given how massive Arc 1 of the manga is, it should be more than just 12-13 episodes.
