Just in time for N7 Day, an exclusive report from Variety popped up late 7 November 2024. The report confirms that a Mass Effect TV series is currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios, and I couldn't be more excited!

While fans didn't get a Mass Effect 5 announcement on N7 Day, a TV series from Amazon following the tremendous success of the Fallout show bodes well. At the time of writing, details about the show's plot, episode length, timeline, and even who (if anyone) will play Commander Shepard are not available.
The only thing we do know about the Mass Effect TV series is the names of some producers and writers.
- Daniel Casey will produce and write: You might know him from the Midsomer Murders 1990s show and, more recently, worked on F9: The Fast Saga's screenplay.
- Cedar Tree Productions: They have a deal with Amazon MGM studios and Karim Zreik will be an executive producer for the Mass Effect series. Karim Zreik has worked as an executive producer on some of my favorite older Marvel shows, including Jessica Jones, Dardevil and Legion.
- Ari Arad to produce: He has worked on the likes of Ghost in the Shell, Iron Man and Borderlands as an executive producer.
Furthermore, who is reportedly "leading development on the next Mass Effect game" Michael Gamble from BioWare/EA will also be producing.
Daniel Casey is set to write and executive produce the adaptation. Karim Zreik will executive produce under his Cedar Tree Productions banner, with Ari Arad and EA’s Michael Gamble also executive producing. Cedar Tree is currently under an overall deal at Amazon MGM Studios.
The list of people involved in the project does give us confidence, coupled with the Fallout video game adaptation success at Amazon, and how solid their exclusive content has been in the past years.
Stay tuned, as we'll update you if/when new information about the Mass Effect series becomes available!
