Independent driving survival game Pacific Drive puts players in the driver's seat as their lone companion as they explore their surroundings of the American Pacific Northwest. During their adventures, they'll encounter supernatural enemies and threats when exploring various environments and finding resources to upgrade their car to tackle hazardous terrains and enemies.
The game developed by Ironwood Studios for PlayStation consoles and PCs garnered positive reviews, and the developer has continued to support the game through multiple patch updates and cosmetic packs to cram into their trunk. The developer shared more news recently as a television adaptation of the game has been announced.
This was revealed in a new report from the entertainment news site Variety this week, in which the developer's official social media account reshared the news. They also shared a statement about the announcement of a TV adaptation of Pacific Drive, stating, "We're happy to announce that we're working with Atomic Monster and James Wan to develop a new TV show based on Pacific Drive!"
"The positive reception to this news has been incredible; thank you all so much - we're so excited to see what happens. See y'all in the Zone!" There's no confirmation whether the adapted TV series will be live-action or an animated project, which we can expect an update in the future.
And yes, the Pacific Drive TV adaptation will be in the hands of director James Wan (The Conjuring, Furious 7, Aquaman), who'll be producing the series with his production company, Atomic Monster, and his partners Michael Clear and Rob Hackett, as executive producers. Pacific Drive was a nominee at The Game Awards for "Best Debut Indie Game" for Ironwood Studios and has recently been longlisted at the BAFTA Awards in four categories, including "Debut Game" and "New IP."
