Phasmophobia just officially announced its 2024 holiday event, Winter's Jest, after several teasers on their X/Twitter account hinting at a winter celebration involving Krampus. Winter's Jest will begin on 11 December and will last until 31 December 2024, letting players enjoy the event and collect rewards throughout most of the holiday season.
Just like the Halloween Blood Moon event, Winter's Jest will involve Community Challenges that players can complete on four different maps:
-
Grafton Farmhouse
-
6 Tanglewood Drive
-
Maple Lodge Campsite
-
Point Hope
Fans will be asked to "identify something incredibly sinister lurking in the familiar surroundings." Ghost hunters will also be able to complete additional objectives for jack-in-the-box items, which will grant points toward the Community Goal and unlocking rewards. However, the scoring system will be a little different from past events.
"We’ve taken on feedback from the Halloween event and implemented that in to the scoring system, lowering the required scores while increasing the amount earned from completing tasks - and rewarding bonuses for those playing on higher difficulties," devs wrote in a Steam News update. "This’ll mean progress will feel quicker and more satisfying throughout this event.
In addition to the Community Rewards, developers have added individual rewards in response to fan feedback.
“Our community is everything,” stated Daniel Knight, CEO and Lead Developer, Kinetic Games. “We have designed these in game events as a Thank You to our players. We are taking their feedback on board and intend to continue adding events into the game in the future.”
Phasmophobia is currently available on PC via Steam, PS5, PS VR2 and Xbox X/S for $19.99/£16.75/€19.50.
