Phasmophobia Teases Upcoming Krampus Holiday Event

New teasers on Phasmophobia's social media accounts suggest that a holiday event is coming pretty soon, and it will likely involve the terrifying Krampus. The first teaser was in the form of a cryptic image posted to X/Twitter with a hidden message:

To discover the code "Krampus is coming," fans realized that they needed to read all of the letters that are in a different font, in order. This spells out the message. Here's the full message, with the code letters bolded: 

In the darK of the night as winteR appears, fAmily comes together, as something evil nears.

A Myth untold, a Presence Unknown, it rears itS head anew. HidIng in the shadowS. It Casts its eye Over an unfortunate few.

While it plots its Moves, prepare for a long nIght. There may be No escape. But with a bit of luck, you may see first light, and avoid a Grizzly fate.

The text could hint at Krampus' upcoming role in the game, especially since it mentions that players must "prepare for a long night." The new update could introduce new challenges that players must complete in exchange for a trophy and ID badge reward.

If it's anything like October's Halloween Blood Moon event, which coincided with the game's release on consoles, Phasmophobia's 2024 holiday event could introduce a new type of weather event or a similar difficulty multiplier. While the game already has snow, it could be interesting to see snowstorms, or to simply see the lobby and maps decorated for the holidays yet again.

But that isn't the only teaser Kinetic Games has offered fans ahead of the holiday season. Another second post reads, "'tis the season," and has as Polaroid showing some Christmas gifts. This could definitely mean that the Christmas or holiday event is coming in the very near future.

Last year's holiday event had players venturing into one of the game's most challenging maps, Sunny Meadows, and locating hidden spots protected by Snowmen. 2022, on the other hand, had players collecting cookies as a little gift for the ghost.

While Phasmophobia hasn't officially published the dates of its holiday event for 2024, the teasers from devs definitely seem to point towards one coming soon. It could feature some similarities to the previous events, but with all the allusions to Krampus, it's pretty likely it'll revolve around the iconic figure.
