Just a few short weeks after launch, players suddenly started to find the previously ultra-rare Real 99 series of cards in MLB The Show 24 Diamond Dynasty. Of course, the fun couldn't last forever as this bug has now been remedied by MLB The Show 24 update 1.04. For players who may have missed the bug or haven't heard of the Real 99 series, we've got more details below following the MLB The Show 24 patch notes reveal.
MLB The Show 24 Real 99 Co-Op bug fix confirmed in patch notes
Recently, MLB The Show 24 players began finding the Real 99 series when playing Co-Op mode in Diamond Dynasty. Co-Op normally begins with each player drafting a lineup, and many quickly noticed the previously unobtainable Real 99 cards were able to be chosen for the first time ever.
The reality is that the MLB The Show 24 Real 99 series is actually made exclusively for active MLB players. Any real-world baseball player who is in Diamond Dynasty can receive an exclusive one-of-one Real 99 card of themselves for their squad.
This normally means that if you're playing Diamond Dynasty online and go up against a Real 99 card, you're actually playing against that real-world MLB player in MLB The Show 24. For some reason, a bug in Co-Op caused these previously ultra-rare cards to get handed out like hotcakes while drafting your lineup.
With the deployment of MLB The Show 24 Update 1.04 aka Game Update 4, they've now remedied the situation and Real 99 players can no longer be drafted in Co-Op. We're now back to the way it was meant to be from the beginning. If you see a Real 99 player, just know that behind that squad is an actual MLB athlete.
