We're up to the twelfth game update for MLB The Show 24, and there's a good array of fixes on the way that should give some players relief. The full download for MLB The Show 24 update 1.12 clocks in around 4.74 GB on Xbox Series X|S, so it's significant but thankfully shouldn't take an extreme amount of time to download and install.

While numbered as 1.12 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, this is technically Update 1.012 on PS5 and Update 1.0.93 on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Notably, they have added the Minnesota Twins City Connect uniform with this update as well. While nothing has been announced just yet, it's likely a City Connect Minnesota Conquest Map could be added to Diamond Dynasty.

Here are the full patch notes for MLB The Show 24 update 1.12:

General:

  • Minnesota Twins City Connect uniform has been added.

Franchise:

  • Fixed a bug that could prevent the CPU from making trades.

Diamond Dynasty:

  • Seasons collection menu will now display more rows to accommodate all cards collected.
  • Adjustments were made to the batter’s eye in Cairo to improve ball visibility.

Storylines:

  • Fixed an issue that would cause an unhandled server exception when trying to replay a moment that was already completed.

Miscellaneous:

  • Various commentary and presentation bug fixes and tuning.

Developer Notes:

  • Foul balls: We’ve made some tweaks to foul balls, primarily impacting the Competitive gameplay style. With poor swing timings, users will now experience more swings and misses.

As noted at the end of their patch notes, foul balls have been addressed with a specific focus on the Competetive gameplay style. If you're still using Simulation or Casual, there may be a slight difference but likely not to the same extent.

This should add pressure on Competetive players to be more accourate with timing and take fewer swings, as a full on whiff is now more likely than a foul ball to extend an at-bat and wear out an opposing pitcher. If you're struggling after the update, it may be best to spend some time in Practice Mode or a few exhibition games to ensure your timing has adapted to the changes.
