Mirthwood's Marriage Update Sees Players Finding Love & Romance Through Adventure

Back in December 2024, developer Bad Ridge Games released their first major content update following the release of their medieval fantasy RPG, Mirthwood. The game launched in November 2024 exclusively for PC via Steam following a delay earlier in the year, which saw the developer releasing a content roadmap outlining patches, forthcoming features, and content updates they have planned for Mirthwood post-launch.

The developer announced the launch of the game's second major content update, intended initially to launch around February 2025 for Valentine's Day. While love has never waited for a specific day or person, the update brings plenty of love and romance to Mirthwood, which will have players saying, "I do!"

Mirthwood's second post-launch content update, the Marriage Update, arrived to the medieval fantasy RPG on 13th March 2025 for PC via Steam. This update adds a host of new gameplay features and new content that players can begin exploring to find their soulmate and strengthen their relationship, resulting in a gorgeous ceremony in the end.

In this adventurous quest to find love and romance, the Marriage Update, players can pursue their heart's desires in finding a partner within this medieval world with the new Romance system. As the relationship unfolds and the love deepens, they'll unlock new Skill Cards and create the perfect setting (and opportunity) to propose to their partner, and their quest to plan a wedding ceremony will soon follow.

After "tying the knot," should players choose this path of companionship, they'll unlock unique quests from their partner to complete, and don't worry, while out exploring, their partner will tend to their chores and other activities around the house. As such, they will understand that relationships and their marriage will take plenty of work, sacrifice, and compromise as they will encounter numerous challenges that could be either rewarding or detrimental.

Will they choose to continue their adventures of the Free Lands or retreat home to care for their partner through "sickness and health?" Or will they spend their time socializing at the local taverns with friends, or will they let financial woes cause division in their marriage

These choices are theirs to make, but similarly, if they make a series of unfortunate decisions, the result may not be pleasant. Nevertheless, this update not only introduces the Romance system, the marriage ceremony, and new quests, but there is other additional content to enjoy in their homes, like new food recipes, items, and a Craftsman's Table to make unique furniture items alongside new enemies and armor types that will protect them while in combat, not so much in their marriage.
