A new "reality-bending" experience will arrive soon as Marvel Studios unveiled the official trailer for the Disney+ Original project, What If…? – An Immersive Story. This enthralling multiversal project is a collaboration between Marvel Studios and ILM Immersive, and it premieres in May 2024 for a limited time only.

This "mixed reality experience," directly connected to the What If series currently available on Disney+, takes audiences on a "narrative-driven journey" across the Multiverse, which, using the Infinity Stones, will need to make some difficult choices that could reshape reality. What If…? – An Immersive Story premieres on 30th May 2024 as a free app exclusively for the Apple Vision Pro device.

Audiences will embark on a "reality-bending" journey to assist The Watcher, who needs help facing variants that pose dangerous threats throughout the Multiverse. They'll be mentored by Wong as he guides them in using the Infinity Stones and casting spells using hand gestures and eye gaze, all to help allies in this epic adventure, all made possible for the Apple Vision Pro device.

The events in What If…? – An Immersive Story have been borrowed and reimagined from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which will produce some interesting interactions and surprising results. Some of the characters, alongside The Watcher and Wong, whom they'll encounter include The Collector, Hela, Red Guardian, and the Mad Titan himself, Thanos.

According to the official press release on Marvel.com, What If…? – An Immersive Story combines the creative powers and "the incredible talent at ILM Immersive, Marvel Studios, and Disney+" to utilize technology to tell stories in "in new and exciting ways." As for how this interactive experience will function, they'll "use their hands and eyes to interact" with their environments, developed using "stunning visuals and spatial audio" to deepen their immersion and experiences.
