Following its official announcement in October 2021, we haven't heard much gameplay details and information for the forthcoming action-adventure game Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. The game is currently developed by Skydance New Media and jointly published by Plaion and Marvel Games; this forthcoming release is slated for a 2025 release, but it has been a few months since the Story Trailer was released.

This all changed recently as Azzuri / Black Panther's voice actor Khary Payton may have slipped up, revealing some details on when the game may be expected to release. These comments were made during an interview with the actor this past week, during which he also shared his thoughts on working on the project with game director Amy Hennig.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra voice actor Khary Payton was recently interviewed by the publication The Direct, in which he was asked about his involvement with Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. During this exclusive interview, when asked about the forthcoming game, Payton stated that there's still work being done on the game as they're "still working. We’re planning on 2025… We’re thinking like a Christmas situation. But I'm so excited."

It remains unclear whether he intended to reveal this information, but for now, it appears that Skydance is aiming for a Holiday 2025 release for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. While it's right to assume that December 2025 is the ideal release window for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, this could be subject to change if there's enough interest to push the game's release forward to late November 2025.

Later in the same interview, Payton reflected on his portrayal of the Black Panther and its significance to him in light of the late Chadwick Boseman's portrayal of T'Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). "If you would have told me that I, you know, after everything that happened with the Marvel universe and everything, and as a black kid growing up in America, I mean, of course, you think, 'I want to be Black Panther."

Payton continued, "And then you see it on the big screen, and you see Chadwick [Boseman] bring him to life, and you're just like, 'You know what, this is better than I ever thought it could be. And to be playing him in the video game, playing his grandfather, be playing a version of Black Panther, and looking on there and seeing that it's me… It's like the most photo-realistic… We want people to play this game and have the entire family, sit on the sofa and watch it like they're watching 'Game of Thrones,' or 'The Walking Dead,' or something. We’re looking for just an incredible cinematic experience for everybody, and I pinch myself."
