The day has finally arrived, as Palians have been praying for an announcement of a possible console launch for Singularity 6's cozy MMO Palia. The game first launched in Open Beta in August 2023 through its dedicated PC launcher and has remained in this game state for almost two years while launching for other platforms, including PC, via Epic Games Store and Steam, and Nintendo Switch consoles.
While it's unknown if Palia will glide its way to Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, it will find a new home, welcoming more Palians to Kilima Village and Bahari Bay, as the developer confirmed its PlayStation and Xbox console release. To top this off, the developer provided an update on the game's next expansion release, which sends Palians off on their next dangerous expedition deep within the magical region of the Elderwood.
Developer Singularity 6 announced in a press release that its cozy MMO Palia will finally make their long-awaited release for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, a detail the developer first made in June 2023 in its Nintendo Switch release FAQ post. Palia is heading to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles on 13th May 2025; in which Palians can add this game to their Wishlist now, and the game at launch supports cross-play and cross-progression between Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S consoles, and PC via Steam.
The developer also confirmed the much-anticipated release of the game's first major expansion, the Elderwood, which will be launching for Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S consoles, and PC via Epic Games Store and Steam on 13th May 2025; the same day as its PlayStation and Xbox console release. New and long-term Villagers will get to embark on a magical journey within this region with a new Adventure Zone to explore, focusing on "verticality and secret nooks to uncover," new magical creatures to discover (and hunt), new Story Quests to follow, and familiar faces to reconnect with.
Additionally, there will be Hidden Artifacts to locate, an equipment system that grants unique buffs to Palians and their party, more fish and insect species to catch, and more plushies to add to their growing collection. Palians can look forward to more hours of quests, exploration, and customization for them and their friends to enjoy, and they can expect regular updates to banish pesky bugs and provide plenty of game adjustments and optimizations across all platforms.
Lastly, the developer unveiled a new and refreshed Refer A Friend program to celebrate its console launch and the Elderwood expansion launch. They've also stated that Palians who have yet to claim all the rewards from the first (and current) Refer A Friend program will still be able to claim them alongside the new wave of rewards, which we've previously detailed in a separate guide and will be updated to reflect the new information.
