The PlayStation Store received a slight update following its State of Play event to reflect new information for one of its best-selling games of 2023. The update in question was its store listing for Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which now reflected that a game trial had been made available.
The two-hour game trial is now available to PS5 owners with a PlayStation Plus (PS) Premium subscription as of 6th February 2024. Players who have yet to acquire and play the superhero action-adventure game but have a PS Plus Premium subscription can access the game trial via the PS Store.
Players will have access to the opening levels of the acclaimed superhero action-adventure game for two hours before the trial ends. If they're eager to continue playing the game, they must purchase the full game from the PS Store, in which all game progress is completed, and trophies unlocked will carry over to the full game.
Those who have yet to subscribe to the PS Plus subscription plan can upgrade their current plan, or new owners are required to register for a PlayStation Network account. This can be done on their PS5 console by navigating to the PS Plus tab from their Home screen.
As for updates on the upcoming New Game+ (NG+) mode arriving for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, developer Insomniac Games stated in December 2023 that it has been pushed back, targeting an "Early 2024" release. This game mode will also launch alongside new "Audio Descriptions," for which the developer will release a complete feature list ahead of its launch.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is now available for PlayStation 5 consoles, with its New Game+ mode launching sometime in 2024. PlayStation Plus Premium members can get the game trial directly from the PlayStation Store.
