Moon Knight is gearing for an epic series finale this week after weeks of fleshing out its characters, unearthing secrets and delighting audiences with memorable and quotable moments. The series is also responsible for introducing Egyptian Gods to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as fans have been speculating about its future involvement with other mythological deities, particularly Asgardians.
Rumours have gone viral online that the final episode may tease an MCU connection to an upcoming film, Thor: Love and Thunder. While it's likely anticipated that the show teases future projects, its writer had addressed these rumours in a recent interview.

With the series final of Moon Knight premiering on 4th May 2022, rumours have speculated that the seemingly untethered series will have a definitive MCU connection with an upcoming project. Rumours suggest that the final episode will link the series with Thor: Love and Thunder, to which writer Beau DeMayo had responded.

During an interview with The Direct, DeMayo stated that while he has no idea what the writers for Thor: Love and Thunder had planned, he's excited to see the film. "You know, I don't know what they are doing in [Thor: Love and Thunder]. My honest answer is 'I don't know'… You do have to wonder. I'm really excited to see it."

"You know, it's a question on my mind. I'm like curious when I see Thor, like, 'Is there going to be something? Is there not?' That's kind of like—well, that's the thing at Marvel when you're writing for them is that they're very, very creatively collaborative, but you are kind of in your silo, your show."
DeMayo has commented that not knowing what Marvel Studios has planned for its upcoming projects is an exciting aspect. Similarly, if he discovers something about a film or TV series, he "can't enjoy that as a fan".
"So, I kind of like that, I don't know. I'm like trying to avoid spoilers myself [laughs]... It's like the moment you learn how Starbucks coffee is made because you work there, suddenly Starbucks coffee is far less fancy to you," DeMayo explained.
Coincidentally, Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab teased possible surprises for the final episode in a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly. "There are some surprises. I think the audience deserves a big action sequence, but it's more than that. It has some twists and turns, and I really feel like it's a satisfying ending to our journey."
While it's possible that DeMayo genuinely had no idea about what Thor: Love and Thunder's writing team had planned for the film, it's worth noting that Marvel Studios has gained notoriety for separating its properties during production. Doing so has prevented significant leaks and production secrets from appearing online and spoiling the project for dedicated fans.
The MCU may be large enough for Gods and pantheons from different mythologies to co-exist simultaneously; the introduction of Egyptian deities is the latest to populate. Whether they'll be crossing over remains to be seen as Moon Knight concludes its run this week.
Moon Knight's series finale premieres this Wednesday, 4th May 2022, on Disney+ at 12 am PT / 3 am ET.
