San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) weekend has arrived as the hugely popular multi-genre convention makes itself home at the San Diego Convention Centre for the annual celebration. With plenty of exhibits, booths, presentations, panel discussions, and more available for visitors to attend and enjoy, Marvel Entertainment is rolling out the red carpet once again, announcing a slew of activities and events during their heroic weekend at SDCC.
This includes the return of the Marvel Games Showcase, which spotlights all forthcoming gaming releases published by its gaming publishing arm, Marvel Games. While details on what gaming titles will be featured during this gaming presentation, one game is confirmed to be present at SDCC as players are joining the battlefield in-game.
According to the official announcement post on Marvel.com, the Marvel Games Showcase is penciled in to be held on 25th July 2024 between 4:30 pm and 5 pm PST / 7:30 pm and 8 pm ET / 11:30 pm and 12 am GMT. While the date and time may be subject to change as of writing, developer NetEase Games confirmed that its superhero team-based PvP shooter Marvel Rivals will be part of this year's gaming showcase.
The game's developer elaborated further on the Marvel Rivals website, providing details on what content will be showcased at the Marvel Games Showcase. This includes a new Marvel Rivals trailer, brand-new game reveals, and "special giveaways;" however, it's yet to be determined if the game reveals are for the team-based PvP shooter or other games to be published by Marvel Games.
As it stands, a handful of forthcoming releases are currently in development at multiple studios, including Arkane's Blade, Insominaic's Wolverine game, Motive's Marvel's Iron Man, and Skydance's Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. The developer will host a livestream later that day on their official Discord server, which recaps all game announcements, content updates, and more from the Marvel Rivals panel at SDCC.
While not confirmed as of writing, it's possible that the Marvel Games Showcase will be livestreamed on the official Marvel Entertainment YouTube and Twitch channels. We'll update this page to confirm if this is the case with the latest news and announcements from the Marvel Games Showcase and Marvel Rivals Special Presentation.
