Marvel Snap developer Second Dinner released their latest Developer Update video, introducing their next season, centered around the superhero team, the Young Avengers. While a few of its members, Cassie Lang/Stature, Iron Lad, and Elijah Bradley/Patriot are already present in-game, some of its other notable members will debut in new cards this season.

One notable member, Kate Bishop, is confirmed as the new Season Pass card, and she'll be bringing her bag of trick-shot arrows to give players an upper hand against their opponents. We'll dive into her bag of trick shots to explain Kate Bishop's card abilities, best synergies, and a few deck inspirations in Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap Kate Bishop Card Abilities Explained

Gaining popularity in recent years due to her on-screen debut in the Hawkeye series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Kate Bishop was not only inspired by the heroism of the Avengers but the man who eventually became her mentor, Clint Barton/Hawkeye, to take up archery. As one of the core members of the Young Avengers, she's a proficient marksman and is well-versed in several martial arts and weaponry despite not having superpowers, much like Hawkeye.

While she would eventually assume the mantle of Hawkeye, her combat prowess and expert marksmanship have found her taking up residence in Marvel Snap. At release, she is a two-Cost and three Power card with an On Reveal ability, except one card, to randomly generate two cards and add them to the player's hand.

These randomly generated cards are her trick-shot Arrows, each with a unique On Reveal ability that synergizes well with multiple deck archetypes. The Acid Arrow, which draws comparisons with Green Goblin, will switch sides once played, while her Basic Arrow will gain +3 Power if the next card is played at its location, similar to Hawkeye.

The Grapple Arrow will move their next played card to a location, similar to Iron Fist, and the Pym Arrow will gain +3 Power if their side of the location is full, much like Ant-Man. Kate Bishop will share similar gameplay mechanics or at least a hybrid between Nico Minoru and Snowguard, which could position her as a great two-Cost card drop due to her various card synergies.

As for how players can obtain this card, she will be the featured card for the Young Avengers season, as she'll be available through the Season Pass. She will eventually be available to purchase from the Token Shop at the start of the September 2024 season, with details to be provided soon.

Let's look at a few early decks and highlight her key synergies in Marvel Snap.

Best Marvel Snap Kate Bishop Decks: Arishem Hand Filler

As Kate Bishop immediately gives players two Arrows to their hands once she's played, The Collector comes to mind as one of her best synergies. The Collector gains +1 Power for every card added to their hand from any source other than their deck. Together with Quinjet, which discounts card costs that didn't start in their deck, Kate Bishop can be a welcoming addition to Arishem decks, which, as of writing, did see a few synergistic cards receive a nerf like Loki.

This Arishem deck, courtesy of Marvel Snap content creator Docty, pairs The Collector/Quinjet package with Arishem and Kate Bishop to add more cards to players' hands. Some featured cards alongside Kate Bishop include Snowguard, Cable, and Agent Coulson, which add seven more cards to their hand total, bumping The Collector's total power gain to +7 Power.

With the addition of Nico Minoru, they can add another card to their hand through one Spell, which gives players a copy of the next card played to their hand. With all the random cards shuffled to their deck with Arishem, which also gives Devil Dinosaur a massive power buff, this makes playing Mockingbird much earlier, with the lowest being 0 Cost due to all the cards that didn't start from their deck.

Best Marvel Snap Kate Bishop Decks: Hammering Home With Lockjaw

Another strong synergy for Kate Bishop is Lockjaw, with its best synergy being Jane Foster Mighty Thor. Jane Foster has been a consistent mainstay in Hammer decks, becoming increasingly popular following Beta Ray Bill's release in the Planet Hulk season.

With Lockjaw having undergone a few changes recently, players can now play multiple cards at its location per turn; it makes it easier to draw out the hammers once Thor and Beta Ray Bill have been played before Jane Foster can draw them to their hand. This hammer-crazy deck from Marvel Snap content creator Docty also lets players take advantage of Lockjaw's ability to draw more Arrows to their hand and capitalize on their ability to gain more Power or disrupt their opponent's play.

Psylocke will help players with extra energy, as HammerJaw decks can feel relatively slow to play due to the higher card costs featured in the deck. While Wong is a cheaper option to slot in this deck, players have some flexibility with Odin being played at Lockjaw or Jubilee's location to potentially draw higher-cost cards like Doctor Doom, Red Hulk, or Magneto.

Best Marvel Snap Kate Bishop Decks: Bishop Zoo

Perhaps the best home for Kate Bishop is the Zoo archetype, which has seen a massive buff, largely thanks to Gilgamesh's release. Kate Bishop will long last give Black Swan much-needed assistance in strategizing their gameplay by the time they reach Turn 4, allowing them to play Kate's Arrows and other one-Cost cards before buffing them with Ka-Zar.

This Young Avengers-inspired Zoo deck from Marvel Snap content creator ReZ Snapper also includes another new card arriving in the Young Avengers season, Marvel Boy, which we'll discuss in a separate guide. But for players who have yet to learn about Marvel Boy in-game, he has an ability that gives +1 Power to three one-cost cards each turn, making it yet another great card for Zoo decks.

To maximize Kate Bishop and Marvel Boy's abilities, some powerful one-Cost cards like Ant-Man, Squirrel Girl, and Martyr, although Hawkeye or Nico Minoru can be good options here. In terms of power buffs, Dazzler, Ka-Zar, and Blue Marvel will work alongside Ant-Man and Marvel Boy, with Gilgamesh as a closing card to play with Caiera also featured to protect their one and six-Cost cards from counters like Killmonger.
