Marvel Rivals "Post-Credit" Tease For Klyntar: Symbiote Surface Map Sparks Discussions Online

Marvel Rivals developer NetEase Games confirmed several new maps are coming to the superhero team-based PvP shooter. This was first announced in the recent Developer Vision update, in which they uploaded the Map Reveal trailers for the HYDRA Charteris Base: Hell's Heaven map and now for another map.

The Klyntar: Symbiote Surface map is the next map featured in the latest Map Reveal trailer, and it will be playable sometime during Season 0. While a date has yet to be confirmed, the trailer included a tease that could be a character connected to the map or something else entirely, according to discussions online.

NetEase Games uploaded their Developer Vision Vol. 2 video late in November 2024, during which the game's Lead Combat Designer, Zhiyong, discussed other core gameplay features and content that will be added to the game at launch and post-launch. Aside from discussing the game's Anti-Cheat systems, hero balances, and various adjustments and optimization, they revealed new maps that will be available at some point during Season 0.

One of the newly announced maps is the Klyntar: Symbiote Surface map, a Convergence map with interesting environmental mechanics in which players interact with the environment, transform it, and create new structures. This "Living Symbiosis" and the map itself were explored in more detail in the new Map Reveal trailer, which sparked some discussion on a tease that occurred around the 1:00 time stamp.

Players started theorizing and speculating that the Symbiote, if it is a Symbiote, which appeared near the end of the Map Reveal trailer, could potentially be Knull, the God of the Symbiotes, who may appear somewhere on the map. Another theory that's also gaining traction online seemingly suggests that it just may be the payload players will have to move or stop depending on the team's objective for the map.

The latter may be true given the contexts of Venom's recently announced skin and the social media post for the Klyntar: Symbiote Surface map. It confirmed Knull's presence that the God of the Symbiotes has yet to be fully revived, and the Symbiote seen in the trailer could be the payload.
