What is 'True Damage'?
True Damage is a virtual band comprising of champions from Riot Games' free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game League of Legends. These champions have alternate backstories to explain their presence in the band rather than as brawlers in the game's arenas.
This is the second virtual band from Riot, with the first being all-female K-pop group K/DA revealed last year. Their English-Korean single POP/STARS saw Madison Beer, Jaira Burns and both Miyeon and Soyeon of (G)I-DLE collaborate to perform the track that amassed over 20 million views within four days of release.
Which champions are in True Damage? Will they get their own skins?
Akali, Ekko, Qiyana, Senna and Yasuo are the founding members of the band. Akali is also part of K/DA but has not left Ahri, Evelynn and Kai'Sa, with True Damage cited as a 'side project' for the rapper.
Their skin reveal trailer shows off how each champion will look in their 1350 RP outfits as well as give some indications surrounding their on-stage personalities. Qiyana has a True Damage Prestige skin available for 2000 Worlds Tokens designed by Louis Vuitton as part of the partnership with the French fashion house, as will new champion Senna next year, while Ekko’s Legendary True Damage skin will be available for 1820 RP once it hits the in-game store.
What type of music does True Damage make?
True Damage is a hip-hop group so their music fits that genre, with Akali rapping once again as she did in POP/STARS for K/DA.
Becky G, Keke Palmer, Duckwrth, Thutmose and a returning Soyeon provide the vocals for the band.
When can we listen to True Damage's first single?
True Damage's first single 'GIANTS' debuted on 10th November during the 2019 World Championship Finals with a live AR performance by the collective at the Accorhotels Arena in Paris.
