The first edition of League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) is all set to begin in 2025, featuring the best LoL teams in Asia-Pacific. These teams will battle against each other through multiple stages in order to book their slot for global events.

The season will be made of three splits—Season Kickoff, Mid Season and Season Finals. The top teams from each event will qualify for international events and the journey will be started with the following participating teams:

Partner Teams

  • CTBC Flying Oyster
  • Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming
  • GAM Esports
  • Talon

Guest Teams

  • DetonatioN FocusMe
  • MGN Vikings Esports
  • Team Secret Whales
  • The Chiefs Esports Club

Here is the format and schedule for all three splits:

Season Kickoff

6

  • Dates: January 17 to February 23

The eight teams listed above will complete in best-of-three round robin format and from there, the top six teams will move to the next stage with Fearless Draft rules. The winner of the Season Kickoff will qualify for First Stand, a new international tournament to be introduced in 2025.

2

Mid Season Split

  • Dates: TBA

Mid Season split will feature best-of-one matches for the first seven weeks and best-of-five matches for MSI qualifier. The top two teams will represent the region in Mid-Season Invitational.

Season Finals

3

  • Dates: TBA

For Season Finals, the teams will be divided into two groups based on Mid-Season standings—the top four will belong to Contender Group, while the rest will be grouped together in Breakout Group.

The first stage of the event will follow best-of-three round robin format for both groups. From there, the top two teams from Breakout Group will battle against the bottom two teams of Contender Group in Group Breaker round.

The winners will then move to Contender, while the losers will be sent to Breakout. The teams will then go through double-elimination bracket, with the top six qualifying for Playoffs and the last standing team will be the LCP Champion.

To give domestic teams a fair chance of moving to LCP 2026, promotion and relegation events will be happening through the 2025 season. You can check out the schedule below:

The teams who will be up for Promotion and Relegation will be decided based on their placement and region merit. Guest teams that qualify for Worlds in that same year will be exempted from the Promotion and Relegation and the winners of LCP P&R will secure their slot of LCP 2026.
