Riot is taking a big step to drastically improve League of Legends experience for SEA players. They will be merging SEA servers, uniting Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore/Malaysia, and Indonesia in order to provide better gameplay experience, stronger community engagement, and more.

The merger is happening with the release of Patch 15.1 on January 9 and will result in faster matchmaking and improved latency. You won't have to make any changes to your accounts as all of your Riot IDs, champions, skins and account progress will be transferred automatically.

"This is the next step in ensuring that your League journey is as competitive, exciting, and rewarding as it can be," said Riot Games. "Thanks so much for playing League, and we can’t wait to see you all on the Rift, united under a single server!"

The merger will also be a massive step for Indian LoL players as LCP will now include new wild card slots in its Promotion and Relegation structure.

The SEA server merge allows players to connect with a larger, more diverse pool of competitors while expanding esports opportunities for emerging markets like India,” said Arun Rajappa, Country Manager at Riot Games India & SA.
