After several teasers and leaks, we finally get an official confirmation that Crysis Remastered is on its way.
Crysis Remastered was revealed by leak yesterday, but now it is official, we are getting a remaster of this 11 years old classic. Crysis Remastered is coming for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
"Crytekâs groundbreaking, critically acclaimed first-person shooter is back! Crysis Remastered is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch â the game's debut on a Nintendo platform, " says the official page of the game.
Crytek was in a bad financial position for almost a full decade now. They sold Bulgarian Crytek Black Sea to Creative Assembly and their UK studio to Deep Silver, in order to cut expenses wherever they can. Currently are basically being kept alive by Hunt: Showdown, which sold better than expected. They've also sold rights for their CRYENGINE to Amazon and Cloud Imperium, the studio working on Start Citizen. They were in a legal dispute with Cloud Imperium, which was settled back in February.
Sources tell that they're waiting to see how this remaster sells before they do a Crysis 4. The same source confirmed that this Remaster is being based on the PS3/360 versions of the game and will keep the nano suit control scheme from those versions. Crysis has been working on Crysis Remastered since 2018. Crytek has confirmed the multiplayer from the original game has been removed.
The remaster is being co-developed by Saber Interactive, the studio known for their Switch ports - they ported The Witcher 3 for the Switch.
