Fortnite Winterfest 2023: Start Date, Free Rewards, And More

Fortnite is abuzz once again with brand new games for players to jump into, including LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racers, and Fortnite Festival. But even with all these new experiences, players are still looking forward to the seasonal content coming to the Battle Royale — namely, Winterfest.

Each year, Epic Games offers players a variety of free cosmetics and items in Fortnite as part of the Winterfest celebrations. Traditionally, this has been via a daily reward "unwrapped" from presents in the Winterfest Cabin. But, leaks have suggested that this year the Winterfest Cabin might not be returning for 2023.

Thankfully, this doesn't mean there won't be any Winterfest celebrations at all, but that things might be looking a little different this year. Here's what we know so far.

Update 15 December: Epic Games has kicked off the Fortnite Winterfest 2023 celebrations as of 14 December.

Fortnite Winterfest 2023 Start Date & Time

Epic Games announce that Winterfest 2023 began on 14 December. Known Fortnite leaker Shiina previously revealed the dates that Winterfest began in past years, which suggested that we would see a similar starting date:

• 2019: December 17
• 2020: December 18
• 2021: December 16
• 2022: December 13

Fortnite Winterfest 2023: Presents, Rewards, Outfits

Leaker HYPEX has revealed what seems to be the upcoming free skins being offered to players as part of Winterfest 2023. These so far include the following: 

• Holiday Boxy
• Winterfest Bushranger

Other leaks have seemingly revealed what the other free gifts will be throughout the celebration:

• Glorious Giftblade (made available on Dec.14)
• Elite Servo Glider
• Perfect Pivot Glider
• Snowfaller Contrails
• Winterfest Flurry Wrap
• Bushie Bright Wrap
• Winterfest Wish Music Track
• Bedside Nanner Emoticon
• Slap Juice Banner Icon
• GG Chilled Emoticon
• Slurp Banner Icon
• Blocko Spray
• Snowglobe Smasher Pickaxe

For now, these are the only cosmetics that have been hinted at, via leaks. It's unclear just how many rewards Epic Games will be distributing this year, especially since rumors seem to claim that the Winterfest Cabin won't be returning in 2023. This means that players won't be unwrapping presents like previous years, and that the rewards may instead be granted through daily quests. 

Fortnite Winterfest 2023 Item Shop

A number of festive Outfits and cosmetics will also be made available in the Fortnite Item Shop to be purchased with V-Bucks. According to leaker iFireMonkey, players will be able to get their hands on the following for a limited time:

• Grimbles Outfit — 1,200 V-Bucks
• Sugarplum Outfit — 1,500 V-Bucks
• Frosted Flurry Outfit — 1,200 V-Bucks

• Cutiepie Outfit — 1,200 V-Bucks
• Karve Outfit — 1,200 V-Bucks
• Globe Shaker Outfit — 1,500 V-Bucks

Pickaxes

• Snow Globe Pickaxe — 800 V-Bucks
• Flurry Pickaxe — 800 V-Bucks
• Polar Poleaxe Pickaxe — 800 V-Bucks
• Candy Cleavers — 500 V-Bucks
• Tundra Blades — 500 V-Bucks

It's important to note that these offerings are subject to change, and may not be available for the duration of Winterfest. Similarly, more Outfits and cosmetics may be added over the course of the event.
