Fortnite Seems to be Defrosting Mariah Carey

Every year, Epic Games kicks off its Winterfest celebration in Fortnite and this year seems to be brewing something very special. Players who have hopped into the Battle Royale lately may have noticed a giant ice block slowly melting away on the map. What, or rather who, is slumbering away inside?

Well, according to some recent leaks, Fortnite is in the process of defrosting Mariah Carey.

Yes, you've read that right. The ultimate "Songbird Supreme" and Christmas icon Mariah Carey is coming to Fortnite. While Epic Games has yet to confirm that the singer will be making her way into the game, leaks seem to suggest that she'll be getting her own Fortnite Outfit that will be available to purchase via the Item Shop.

Mariah Carey should be arriving in the Item Shop on December 20, according to the leaks, while also receiving an NPC character on the island. As part of the Mariah Carey offerings, players can also expect to see the "All I Want for Christmas is You" emote, though it's currently unclear how much this will cost in the shop. 

It's assumed that the giant ice block on the Fortnite Island is where Mariah Carey's NPC is currently residing. Once the ice block melts, the singer should be available to find out in the wild. 

Mariah Carey isn't the only seasonal offering this Winterfest. Players can expect a number of themed cosmetics, both free and premium, as well as some unvaulted items to be used in battle.
