Where to find the Light Machine Gun in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 has been incredibly successful, both in the content Epic has added and the fan feedback it has implemented. As a result, there has been a steady flow of meaningful content with exciting rewards every week. In week 5 of Chapter 3 Season 2, Epic quietly dropped a version 20.20 hotfix that yet again adds new content. One of the latest additions with the hotfix is the Light Machine Gun, which Epic has unvaulted for the first time since patch 15.00.

It's always slightly confusing to look for these new weapons when they arrive, so here's our guide that explains where to find the Light Machine Gun in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2.

Light Machine Gun (LMG) location in Fortnite

The Light Machine Gun is part of the regular loot pool, and you can find it in any of the chests, supply drops, and on the floor of any named locations. You can also loot these off, other players.

While looking for LMG this way may seem like a wild goose chase, we have a few pointers that would ease your search and increase your chances of finding this high fire-rate weapon.

First and foremost, we recommend searching for the Light Machine Gun in Fortnite at any of the IO outposts in the game. There's a high chance that you will find it lying there on the streets, in one of the many chests, or just on other players who are also very likely to be scouting these areas. 

We also recommend checking IO airships, especially in Command Cavern. Command Cavern, in particular, is swarming with IO forces, and it's likely to have an LMG tucked away somewhere. Remember to check the vaults as well. 

Coincidentally, one of the Week 5 challenges in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 requires you to destroy structures with the Light Machine Gun. Once you have acquired the LMG, all that remains is for you to shoot at ten different structures to complete this challenge and gain 20,000 XP in the process.
