The action is rolling right along in Fortnite after Epic Games recently dropped the Chapter 3 Season 3 update that completely switched up the battle royale gameplay. Players were treated to new map locations, gameplay feature adjustments, and of course exciting weapon changes.
The new season marked the return of some fan-favorite weapons that had previously been vaulted, as well as the implementation of some all-new guns. It seems as though the initial Chapter 3 Season 3 patch did not present these weapons as Epic had intended, so the game devs have further patched some of the new content in order to better assimilate it to Season 3. Here's everything you need to know about the Fortnite weapons update in Chapter 3 Season 3 including changes to the Striker Burst AR, Combat SMG, and Two-Shot Shotgun.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 weapons update
Oftentimes, new content can arrive somewhat broken in a fresh Fortnite season. Weapons can sometimes be too overpowered at first introduction, or not powered up enough for the state of play at the time of release.

Three of the weapons (new and unvaulted) introduced for Chapter 3 Season 3 are now seeing adjustments less than a week since the patch went live. We'll go over all the details of the Fortnite weapons update on the Striker Burst AR, Combat SMG, and Two-Shot Shotgun down below.
Two-Shot Shotgun - Chapter 3 Season 3 weapons update
Introduced at the start of Chapter 3 Season 3, the Two-Shot Shotgun is a semi-automatic, two-round burst shotgun. The weapon will fire two shots per trigger press, and fires a spread of 10 pellets.
Changes to the Two-Shot Shotgun in the recent weapons update include:
- Minimum hit pellets buffed from 3 to 4
- Maximum Damage from 75/80/85/90/95/95 to 80/85/90/95/98/99
Combat SMG - Chapter 3 Season 3 weapons update
Introduced in Chapter 3 Season 2, the Combat SMG is back as a fast-firing SMG with a tight spread. It does have a fairly significant recoil, but skilled players can easily control this.
Changes to the Combat SMG in the recent weapons update include:
- Body Damage nerfed from 20/21/22/23/24 to 19/20/21/22/23
Striker Burst AR - Chapter 3 Season 3 weapons update
Also introduced in Chapter 3 Season 2, the Striker Burst Rifle is back for another season in the battle royale. This gun is a two-shot burst weapon that is fully automatic. When the player aims, they view the weapon's Red Dot Sight, rather than slightly zooming and staying in third-person.
Changes to the Striker Burst AR in the recent weapons update include:
- Body/Builds Damage nerfed from 28/29/31/33/34 to 27/29/30/32/33
