Epic Games has made several changes to its battle royal game Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 2. Additions like the Zero Build mode have undoubtedly attracted a fresh set of faces to the game, and Epic has now found a way to lure more players towards its competitive Arena mode.
Completing Arena matches rewards you with "Hype" points that determine your ranking in Fortnite's competitive world, which lets you participate in various in-game tournaments. The publisher has added a new incentive for players to play the Arena mode, as we explain how you can get free Arena rewards in Fortnite.
How does Fortnite Arena mode's ranking system work?
Fortnite's Arena mode has three game modes for players to participate in Solo, Duos, or Trios matches. The competitive mode features three ranked leagues, Open League, Contender League, and Champion League, which they'll need Hype to progress.
Earning "Hype" points allows you to scale up and reach the highest league, which is dependent on total eliminations to receive a match placement. Your division ranking thus unlocks various Fortnite events where you can compete for cash prizes.
How to unlock free rewards in Fortnite's Arena mode?
The Arena levels are further sub-classified into ten categories: Division 1 to Division 10. Fortnite dataminer Shinna said that players would start unlocking free Arena rewards after reaching Contender League Division 1.
