Following on from Fortnite's god-filled Chapter 5 Season 2: Myths & Mortals, Epic Games has revealed the title for the next season: Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked. The name was confirmed in a post from the official Fortnite X account on May 16, 2024.
Update May 17: Epic Games has announced that a Fallout crossover will be heading to Fortnite as part of Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked.
The reveal comes after the first live event that players could witness in-game as we head to the end of of Season 2. During this event, we saw the statue on Mount Olympus surrounded in strange red lightning, only for the statue's sword to point directly into the sky and summon an explosion on the island. The explosion then travelled off-shore where a great sandstorm began to whip up.
According to known Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR, this is just the first of a few events set to roll out in the run up to Chapter 5 Season 3.
Epic Games has yet to officially reveal any content arriving with Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked, however it won't be long before more information comes to light. Fornite Chapter 5 Season 2 is set to end on May 24, 2024, with Season 3 arriving on the same day after some server downtime.
Yesterday also unveiled the "Jason Universe" which will be expanding the Friday the 13th franchise across various platforms. Interestingly, the official X account for the Jason Universe only follows six accounts at the time of writing, including Fortnite.
Friday the 13th villain Jason Voorhees has already made an appearance in Fortnite back in 2023 for Fortnitemares, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume we could be seeing more Friday the 13th content arrive in Fortnite in later seasons. LEGO Jason Voorhees, anyone?
On May 17, Epic Games also revealed that a Fallout collaboration will be heading to Fortnite as part of the new season. So far, a promotional image showing the Power Armor was posted to the official social channels.
